Looking for a skate park in California? Geez, don't look too hard, you'll probably miss the one right under your nose. CA has over 75 different skate parks spanning the entire state, from San Diego all the way up to Redding, if you are a skater in CA, you are in a sort of Shangri La–contentment is right around the corner. Skate parks are just an ollie away.

Vans skate has a huge skate park in Orange, CA just a little ways southeast of Anahiem. It features a 20,000 square foot indoor street course with an array of obstacles including quarter pipes, banks, handrails, boxes, pyramids and more. An 11 1/2 foot deep replica Combi-bowl is there for those skaters who like to do it in the pool. The Vans park has a vert ramp, an outdoor street course, mini ramps, an arcade and a kid’s area for youngsters to hone in their talents in a less intense environment. If you are a member, a two hour session runs $5 but if you are not a member it costs $12 per session. Check out this skate park if you are looking for something a little bit more challenging than you usually get to skate on or if you are looking for the diverse obstacles, ramps and courses this skate park offers.

Coronado Skate Park is another place of refuge for those in need of a good skateboarding session. It's just south of Orange County. If that's not near you, here's a list of a few skate parks that might be: Campbell Skate park, Bakersfield Skate park, Alameda Point Skate Park, Antioch Skate park, Modesto Skate Park, Northridge Skate Park, San Jose Ramp Club, Susanville Skate Park, Stockton Skate Park, and Yuba City Skate Park to name a few.

Skate parks are all over CA, the home of greats like Tony Hawk, Ryan Sheckler, Shaun White, Andrew Reynolds, and Eric Koston. Suitable weather all year makes CA a heaven not just for skateboarders but for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities in a warm, temperate climate.

Skate parks are the best way to skate. They are about as safe an environment one could ask for while engaging in a relatively "extreme" sport. You don't have to worry about cars, pedestrians or any other obstacle other than the jump, ramp or rail you are trying to work. You won't have to keep an eye out for authorities either, as this is not like skating outside the library or anywhere else skating isn't permitted. Check out www.skateboardparks.com and click on CA to look at all of the skate parks in your state. Stop playing the new Tony Hawk video game and go to some skate parks yourself.
